Barb’s Cakery  specializes in Wedding Cakes offering many styles and designs.  We strive to provide the highest quality product and friendly, personalized service to all brides.  We bake and decorate Wedding Cakes and Specialty Cakes fresh to order.  With over 20 years of experience and dedication to our customers, we will do everything we possibly can to ensure your experience will exceed your expectations.  Please refer to these common questions for answers to our most frequent inquiries.
  1. What design can I pick?
    We have many designs in our portfolios to choose from. You may furnish your own design and we can discuss how we will be able to reproduce it. There is no extra charge for most special designs.
  2. Do you deliver?
    Yes. We deliver Wedding Cakes with a minimum of three tiers in the Fresno / Clovis area Tuesday through Saturday. This is included in the price of the Wedding Cake. Out of town and Sunday deliveries are charged according to the mileage and time involved. We set up the cake at the reception site and coordinate with the facility and florist. We are unable to deliver special occasion cakes. If your special occasion cake is three tiers or larger, we can deliver it for an additional fee. Please ask our consultant for details.
  3. When should I place my order?
    For Wedding Cake orders during months with dates of high demand, we recommend six to eight months in advance. We prepare a limited number of wedding cakes each week in order to maintain our high quality and provide personalized service to each bride. Please allow us a minimum of two weeks notice for special occasion cakes.
  4. Must I make a deposit?
    For Wedding Cakes, a fifty dollar ($50) non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a specific date. For special occasion cakes, a deposit (partial payment) is due when the order is placed. The balance can be paid when the order is picked up. The balance for wedding cakes must be received no later than three weeks before the delivery. In addition to the cake price, a refundable security deposit is required to cover the equipment used in the cake presentation. It is the client’s responsibility to return the equipment clean and in good condition.
  5. May I sample cakes at Barb’s Cakery?
    Yes! We offer samples for upcoming Weddings. We will be happy to give you one free sample of your choice, however, because we bake only to order, advanced notice is required. Additional samples are available at $3.00 per selection. Please call or stop by to place a sample order. We do not provide samples for special occasion orders other than Weddings.
  6. What cake flavors are available?
    You may choose from twelve flavors of cake including Banana, Cherry, Chocolate, Lemon, Marble, Pineapple, Spice, Strawberry, White, Carrot, Red Velvet and White Chocolate Chip. Also choose from twelve flavors of filling including Apricot, Blackberry, Cherry, Chocolate Fudge, Cream Cheese, Lemon, Marble, Pineapple, Raspberry, Spiced Apple, Strawberry and Vanilla Cream – mixing and matching as you desire at no additional charge. Other flavors may be available upon special request.
  7. Do I need an appointment?
    Yes. We encourage you to call ahead and schedule a wedding cake tasting and consultation appointment. We require a minimum of one weeks advance notice to prepare samples and schedule a time and date that is convenient for you. We schedule visits Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 to 6:00pm.
  8. Do you work with Fondant?
    We use Buttercream frosting at Barb's Cakery. We can provide accents and decorations using Fondant for an additional cost if you wish. Please ask our Wedding Cake Consultant for details and pricing for Fondant.
